Working Together for Jesus

Sunday School

Richard Wood, who is the Associate Pastor for Family Ministry at Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church, is our new associatioanl Sunday School Director.  We have a team ready to work with your church in providing training for your Sunday School leaders, teachers and workers.  Feel free to call on him for assistance with your Sunday School.

We also have a process called the "Sunday School Enrichment and Growth Process." This process teaches what the Sunday School is really meant to do, helps the church in enlisting and training workers and teachers of all ages, assists the church in putting together and training a Sunday School Planning Team, looks at ways to reach out to people and how to assimilate them into the church family, helps each worker in Sunday School to understand their job, and more. The process will take 12 to 18 months. The Sunday School Director of one church that completed the process said, "Our church will never think about Sunday School the same way again."

The following is the definition of Sunday School that we are using for the process: “Sunday School is the foundational strategy in a local church for leading people to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and for building on-mission Christians through open Bible study groups that engage people in evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, ministry, worship and prayer.”

If you are interested, please call the associational office and speak with our Associational Missionary, Rev. Gordon West.
