Families Face Unique Stress in Today’s World
“Hurry up! We’re going to be late!” Dad sits revving behind the wheel of the family van while Mom rushes to get everyone ready to go. Everyone is stressed. The baby is crying. It is time to go WORSHIP. In our stressed out world even the day of rest is restless.
How do we find time to re-create when every moment is so full? At times I wish I could be back to the Garden of Eden—walking with God. No depressing evening news or politicians or wars of abused children (then again, no March Madness). I’d like to go home.
But we cannot go back to the garden. The gate is guarded. We can only go forward toward the home Jesus is preparing for us. I think here we find our answer to our stress filled lives.
Someone wrote: “Aim at heaven and you get earth thrown in. Aim at earth and you get neither.”
